What the Doctor Ordered
By Brian Dusel
Since Sunday’s episode of Pulse Wrestling, you’ve been sweating. The withdrawal has been hitting you hard and brought on some sudden urges of needing to see more professional wrestling, but fear not, Wednesday VWE has the cure when they present Primetime at 5 pm SLT. There is a big tag team match, a match between two of the agilest superstars on the roster, and then the VWE Women’s World Champion is gonna be in action, so strap your junkie tie tight and get ready.
In the first scheduled match, they are jumping in with a main event worthy match as the recently returned Ren Blackheart teams with Bert “Turbo” O’Neill to face the team of Jayson Rain and “The Devil” Kieran Darkwatch. Some might be confused how these two, who started with a disagreement about the respect of the crowd, the Devil dismissing them and Jayson wanting their encouragement, to finding themselves teaming together. But over the weeks, little by little, Rain has found himself tempted by the Devil. The dark side is strong and preys upon an individual’s own weaknesses and fears. But, however, he did it, Jayson and Kieran are now on the same page and have requested a tag match to show not only are they unified, but they can work well together. Blackheart and O’Neill are two of the most impressive superstars with their light footwork inside the ring, the willingness to throw caution to the wind and use their whole bodies as weapons. Can that overcome the striking ability of Jayson Rain or the reach and power advantage of Darkwatch?
You say you want more speed, more acrobatics, and more heavy-handed strikes? Well then take “The Misfit” vs Tucker and call us in the morning. That’s right, in the second match of the event, Jeffrey Fireguard will go one-on-one with Rhys Tucker. Both men are the same lean size, no reach advantage and both men enjoy a faster-paced match. They use their speed to normally wind their opponents and wear them down, slipping under big strikes. This matchup will put you on the edge of your seat with quick counters, fast strikes, and inhuman acrobatics. When two men have similar styles and face off against one another, it makes for some incredible feats of willpower and finding ways to counter your standard moves into different situations. This is the kind of match that will test both men and push them to their limits. And you get to witness this beautiful spectacle live.
Now let’s see your other symptom. You say that you have grown tired of seeing every one of Chloe Valentine’s matches being interrupted by the 2017 Elimination Royale winner, Krystal? That has happened when Chloe battles anyone but Krystal, but this week, the VWE Women’s World Champion will battle Stacy Mancino who hopes she can “teach” (see what we did there?) Chloe humility and send her home with a loss. If Mancino can take the victory, after WrestleSeries IX, Stacy could be first up in the line of challengers in 2018. Looking at both competitors, Stacy does have a slight strength advantage, while the Champion does have a couple inches in the reach department. One thing to keep in mind is the experience advantage. While Stacy might be a phenomenal teacher, she focused most of her time and energy earning her teaching degree while Valentine kept her studies strictly in the squared circle. Chloe earned a Master’s Degree in wrestling combat. They say that anything can happen in the wrestling ring, and whoever “they” is, they would be correct. Chloe’s mind hasn’t been 100% in her matches thanks to Krystal, and that has to always be in the back of her mind. With that kind of distraction affecting her, all Stacy needs to do is keep the pressure on and force the Champion to make a mistake. And in this business, one mistake against a world-class opponent can throw every strategy out the window.
And there you have it. To cure you of this illness, needing pro wrestling in your life, all you have to do is get a steady intake of wrestling action presented every Wednesday and Friday by VWE and then Pulse Wrestling every Sunday. If you stick to this prescription, then your symptoms of withdrawal will subside. So keep these questions in mind. Are Jayson and Kieran really a team? Will the Misfit catch Tucker off-guard? Can Ms. Mancino send Chloe Valentine home with a bad report card and a loss? Great questions that can only be answered 5 pm SLT this Wednesday when VWE presents Primetime at the home of Virtual Wrestling Entertainment, the Empire City Coliseum. And make sure to frequently check VWEWrestling.Com for all the news, interviews, and previews you can use.
